Best of Headache & Neck Pain Home Remedies!
Make a home cervical traction device with 2 balls and one sock.
As you watch and read this AMAZING hack, that is the “Cat’s Meow”, as they say, for headache and neck pain home remedies, please remember that as an Amazon Affiliate, I may receive a small commission for any items purchased through links in my website or blog. I recommend them because I truly to enjoy them and value their quality, but full disclosure is important, so there it is.
Now, where was I? Oh yes, socks and balls!
All you need is a sock and some balls.
Is anyone else laughing? I hope so.
1. Get a sock, stocking, pantyhose, etc
I personally love Rockford Red Heel Socks, like these ones, but any sock will do as long as it’s knee-ish height. Shorter ones won’t work, because you need length–you’ll see in a moment.
2. Get 2 balls (tennis-sized). Put them in foot of sock.
Harder than it looks, my friends. Try to ‘inside-out’ the sock to smoosh those suckers in.
Lacrosse balls, tennis balls, Rawlogy balls, craft balls, will work.
Baseballs…they’re a bit hard. But you be you and see if it feels good.
If it feels great, awesome. If it feels not-great. Get different balls, friend.
3. Tie Sock Off
I was going to write “Tie One On”, but I feel I’ve over-punned this post already 🙂 But then I went and said it anyways 🙂 Forgive me, it might be 2am…
Tie sock off to keep the balls in the foot portion
4. Assume The Position
Lay on back to have balls just under base of neck.
It should ELONGATE your neck, like cervical traction, so that you feel your spine getting longer.
IF you feel like your chin is jutting upwards, that is wrong. You might need a pillow, like shown in video, to get in the proper position. If this is the case, you would benefit from some foam rolling to the Thoracic Spine, as long as you are not osteoporotic. Talk to a PT, my friend.
5. Relax here 2-3 minutes
You can do a few chin tucks to activate your deep neck flexor groups, or just relax here and belly breathe.
Consider heat to the area before or after the sock-ball-massage, if moderate headache, or ice to same area if severe headache.
Heat to chest area and forehead can also help improve blood flow, and reduce pain.
This really is the king (or queen, or whatever), of headache and neck pain home remedies. If it helps you, please share it with someone you love.
